As the later years of WWII saw RAAF personnel returning to Australia, it became apparent that regular communication with former personnel would benefit all, so WINGS as a member-magazine was founded in 1943. Over the following 80+ years of continuous production, it has had many iterations and presentations, yet it has remained true to its core values of keeping in touch with members, remembering those we have lost, and reporting on the aircraft platforms of yesteryear, today and tomorrow and all-things aerospace.
Its standard of presentation, as a high-quality member-journal, with articles written by leading defence journalists and specialist technical writers sees WINGS highly regarded in the aerospace sector, both in the civilian world as well as that of the Australian Defence Force, ensuring readership by the leading defence echelons in ADFHQ and HQJOC, as well as units such as DSTG, CASG and CIOG.
RAAFA Publications produces Wings on behalf of the Air Force Association. RAAFA Publications is a not-for-profit company, fully owned by the NSW Division of the Air Force Association.
